Sportchip

ECU DPF removal On Sunday, June 2nd took a place third round of Retro RallyCross at Mallory Park circuit in the UK. Coming back to Mallory was very lucky for Grzegorz Kalinecki and Team Sportchip, he finished this round as first on the podium. Mallory Park may not be as spectacular as the rest of the tracks in British rallycross but certainly drivers have a place to accelerate, and they also have a reason to fear. Gravel is full of stones the size of the brick making Lancia returned from the battle with minor damage such as broken windscreen and broken front grill. Final began with some battle, Grzegorz Kalinecki had a contact with Mini but both drivers came out of it without any serious damages. After the second corner Lancia took the lead, and just before the end of that lap Mini had to withdraw due to serious engine failure. Race persisted, and Ray Morgan pushing really hard to catch up with our Lancia Delta HF Integrale. Grzegorz Kalinecki once more showed great class of driving and won the race. All thanks to our sponsors:

Rallycross On Sunday, the 7th of October took place 1st Round of Irish Rallycross Championship and the third round of British Retro Rallycross Challenge at Pembrey circuit in west Wales. Grzegorz Kalinecki in Lancia Delta Integrale has won in the Irish Rallycross Championship in Supercars Class which gives him the lead in the Irish Championship and won historic class in the Retro Rallycross of MSA British Rallycross Championship. This time seven cars competed in the Retro Rallycross but only six of them had survived to the finals. During the first race Grzegorz started from pole position and completed that race in third place. The second race we again managed to draw the pole position and finish in second place. Third race went really good for him, starting from the third position to win it. The sum of the best times of Grzegorz gave him pole position in the finals and the chance to win it. Rob Gibson in his MG Metro 6 got in the lead just before the first corner but Kalinecki got to overtake him before the end of the first lap. As the battle for second place intensified, Kalinecki was able to draw ahead of his rivals and took a clear win. By winning the finals Grzegorz Kalinecki got in to second place in the overall standings with a chance to fight for first place at the last round of retro rallycross which is in three weeks time. "It's a really cool moment in my live, Lancia becomes a supercar ... thanks to all who believed that it could happen. Tough weekend for Sportchip Team

28-08-2012

Rallycross This time Sportchip Team was competing at Round 2 Retro Rallycross in UK. MSA British Rallycross Championship Round 2 was organized at Lydden Hill Circuit in south of England. On Sunday 26th of August there was a practice session and first Race. Grzegorz Kalinecki in his Lancia Delta Integrale was driving very good and got to the second position when just before the finish line the accelerator got stuck and he had to turn off the engine to avoid damage. This little issue was sorted very quickly by the Sportchip Team and he was back racing the next day at Race 2. Grzegorz who had started from the back of the grid first overtook the Mini and 450HP Porsche 911. On the next lap he passed a 500HP VW Beetle with a porsche engine and he finished the race in third position. So far it showed that we had a good chance for a trophy. Third Race was going even better than the last one until at the and of it the car started giving trouble with the clutch. The final was a fair fight to get the car to the finish line with the broken clutch but he managed to do that and got a very good fifth position. "Next Round is at the beginning of October so we have few weeks to get the funds and buy a new professional clutch for Lancia"-said Grzegorz. "We surely will remember this Rallycross at Lydden Hill Circuit, the track is very fast and spectacular and the track support team was very hospitable and very supportive. We also would like to thank our sponsors for their support for this race: Turbo-Tech www.turbo-tech.ie, Rastaurant Cottage Cafe www.cottagecafe.ie, Daria Solarium Tanning & Nails www.dariatanning.com, TKCCC Crash Repairs Specialists www.tkccc.ie" -said Marlena.

British Retro Rallycross Round One at Mallory Park

22-07-2012

Rallycross After eight years Grzegorz Kalinecki has brought out his Lancia Delta HF Integrale for a prestigious competition at Mallory Park Circuit in UK. Retro Rallycross is new to MSA British Rallycross Championship and it's featuring some of the finest Rallycross classic race cars from yesteryears. It's divided in to two classes, cars up to 1982 and all 4WD in between 1982 to 1987. The Class of pre 1982 Mini's and Ford Escort was running from the first pit and 10 seconds after our Lancia and Rob Gibsons Group B MG Metro 6R4. The circuit was great typical Rallycross track with lots of gravel surface with many bumpy suprises. Practise has shown us that Sportchip Team had to make few quick modifications to handle the flying stones. On the first Heat we had another surprise when the pedal got stock and we haven't finish that run. After that all went very well for us. Heat 2 was very entertaining with competition between Grzegorz in Lancia and Rob Gibson in Metro. Heat 3 went smoothly well and the finals were something spectacular. Grzegorz has done some very entertaining sideways and handle Lancia so well that finish on second position in the final. That was incredible weekend and very well organised. We felt very welcome and the weather has been really great that day so we could enjoy it. Many thanks to Sportchip Team who has put so much effort to get Lancia ready for this competition, and the last two weeks before this were really hard on them. We also would like to thanks Shirley Gibson which organised that event so professional and has been very supportive.

Irish Drag Racing Championship 17 July Enniskillen

18-07-2011

ITCC Yesterday, Sunday 17 of July, SportChip Team went to support Jacek Rocol and his Skyline GTR at Irish Drag Racing Championship in Enniskillen. Upon our arrival, the racing had already started. However it was immediately apparent that the atrocious weather was having a severe effect on the racing. There was much wheel spin off the line and the spray from the cars even made spectating difficult. It was Jacek first time in Skyline GTR in drag racing so he had to run it few times on that day to get used to this 700BHP. Even that it was so wet he made third best time in general 11.68 seconds and won his class which is a great result. Photographs from the event are availbale at our gallry and on facebook Sportchip website.

Sportchip Team at ITCC round 9 & 10

27-06-2011

ITCC Last Sunday next two rounds of ITCC 9 & 10 took a place at Mondello Park in which three drivers represented Sportchip Team. Gareth Hayden in Super Touring class and Rob Savage and John Kelly in Touring class. Gareth's Honda has received few aerodynamic improvements which helped to get third place in Classifications and necessary data for setting the car before the race. However, our guys in Touring class qualifed for the race on excellent positions Rob 2nd and John 3rd. Round 9 had very dramatic course for our team, on the third lap John Kelly Peugoet had a small technical failure and he had to withdraw. On the same lap Gareth trying to learn new car setup made a mistake and lost his third position in Super Touring class. Troubles got also Rob which on the last corner was hit by Eric Carroll (honda integra) and lost an excellent second position. Round 9 results: Super Touring class Gareth Hayden - 6 Touring Class Rob Savage - 3 Touring Class John Kelly - DNF. During the break before round 10 team removed all the faults, improved setup and was determined to race strategy. At round 10 Gareth was leading in the first two laps and then had to let go Martin Tracey in twices powered Ford RS500 / 2000cc, but finished the race on the best 2nd place this season in Super Touring class. In Touring class it was a lot harder for both of our drivers. Rob has started from 8th grid and John from 10th grid but didn't stop them from getting great results at the end, Rob has finished 2nd and John 5th. Rounds 9 and 10 are behind us and once more we showed we are serious strenght in ITCC. We would like to thanks all fans who has visited us at the paddock. Many thanks to all Team, as usual they have done a great job.

We have tested the new Fiat Scudo with a very unusual engine 1.6 16V Multijet and made a chip which improved the factory power settings from 90BHP and 185 NM factory (which is to small for such a big car) to a 110 BHP and 235NM.
